Interconnection process
The content of this webpage has been temporarily removed while we prepare to post new interconnection process information related to the new Interconnection Tariff.
The Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities (MDPU) recently approved a new version of National Grid’s Standards for Interconnecting Distributed Generation (also known as the “Interconnection Tariff”) under MDPU order 1219 (cancelling MDPU order 1176). This new tariff is now available for download on the National Grid website at:
http://www.nationalgridus.com/non_html/Interconnect_stds_MA.pdf. This new Interconnection Tariff is effective as of May 1, 2013. We strongly encourage all of National Grid’s distributed generation (DG) stakeholders to review this document carefully.
Please refer to the
Interconnection Documents webpage for a list of all relevant Interconnection Process documents.
Please refer to the
Net Metering webpage for more information about billing options related to DG interconnections.

Note about Application Forms: Old application forms will no longer be accepted. Only the new applications forms (available on the
Interconnection Documents webpage) will be accepted!
Note about Time Frames: As per the
Standards for Interconnecting Distributed Generation (MDPU 1219), Interconnecting Customers are required to respond promptly to any requests for signatures, information, documentation, and/or payments in compliance with the Time Frames described in the
Interconnection Tariff. Failure to comply with these Time Frames during any stage of the interconnection process may result in an Interconnection Application being cancelled without compensation being provided to the Interconnecting Customer.
