Massachusetts Electric and Nantucket Electric d/b/a National Grid have issued this RFP for the solicitation of renewable energy projects located in their respective electric service territories and interconnected with their respective electric distribution systems pursuant to Section 83A of the Green Communities Act as added by chapter 209 of the Acts of 2012, An Act relative to competitively priced electricity in the Commonwealth.

Bids are due by August 6, 2015 by 12:00 noon Eastern Prevailing Time.

A Bidders Conference will be held on July 9, 2015 from 10 AM to 12 PM at the Eversource facility located at 1 NSTAR Way Westwood, MA 02090 in the Auditorium on the 3rd Floor. Request For Renewable Energy Certificates

National Grid has issued a Request for Proposals to purchase Renewable Energy Certificates ("RECs") to meet the Massachusetts Renewable Portfolio Standard ("RPS") and certificates that meet the Alternative Energy Portfolio Standards ("APS"). National Grid is seeking proposals for the supply of RECs from generating facilities in Massachusetts, New England and surrounding regions that have been approved by the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources as Class I new renewable energy resources, Class I Solar Carve-Out new renewable energy resources, Class I Solar Carve-Out II new renewable energy resources, Class II existing renewable energy resources and Class II Waste Energy existing renewable resources that meet the RPS requirements. National Grid is also seeking proposals for certificates that meet the APS requirements. The following table summarizes the quantity of certificates National Grid is seeking:

Massachusetts Industrial Customer Basic Service:

August 1, 2015 to October 31, 2015 (100% of load)

 

 

Massachusetts Electric Company and Nantucket Electric Company has issued a Request for Proposals seeking fixed price bids for load following service for the Industrial Customer Group in each of the three load zones (SEMA, NEMA, and WCMA). The companies will also incorporate requirements to implement the Massachusetts Renewable Energy Portfolio Standards.

National Grid intends to evaluate and select supplier(s) on the same day that final pricing is due.

January 1, 2016 to June 30, 2016 (20% of load)

 

Rhode Island Standard Offer Service Commercial Customer Group:

July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016 (30% of load)

 

Rhode Island Standard Offer Service Industrial Customer Group:

July 1, 2015 to September 30, 2015 (100% of load)

 

 

In Rhode Island, National Grid is seeking fixed price bids for load following service to meet its Standard Offer Service for the Residential Group, the Commercial Group, and the Industrial Group. National Grid has also incorporated requirements to implement the Rhode Island Renewable Energy Standards.

National Grid intends to evaluate and select supplier(s) on the same day that final pricing is due. National Grid reserves the right to award all or none of the blocks in the RFP.
