Demand Response Programs
Demand Response (DR) programs help reduce energy costs and can also help system integrity for a few critical hours during the year. If you can control loads in your facility, you may want to participate in the price response program or enter into the forward capacity market through a demand response provider. These programs encourage facility managers to lower energy use during certain key conditions:
- Tight power supply
- Local distribution equipment approaching capacity limits
- When wholesale power supply prices are expected to exceed $100 per mWh
Your performance will result in credits that will reduce your electric bill or payments from a demand response provider.
If you are a large electricity customer (over 200 kW peak load) of ours in New England we can
provide you with a demand response audit to help you determine which program would best fit your
situation. In some cases, we can also provide financial incentives towards projects that increase your
ability to capitalize on these opportunities.
