Condominiums, Apartments or Mobile Home Complexes
Step 1: Start the Work Request Process
- To begin the work request process, please complete the
Work Request Form. After you submit this form, you will receive an email confirming that it was received.
- Within two business days, you will receive a Work Request Number. Please use it when referencing your project. Be sure to use this number when obtaining a permit from your local municipality.
- Your project will be assigned to a company representative who will contact you within ten business days and determine whether a site visit is required. If you receive a Work Request Number but have not been contacted by a company representative within ten business days, please contact your local Energy Solutions Services Office. Be sure to provide your Work Request Number.
Step 2: Provide Project Information
- Complete the Condominium Complex, Apartment Complex or Mobile Home Complex Request for Electric Service Information Form (pdf).
- Complete an Easement Application Form (pdf). Please provide copies of the deed (including book and page), assessor's map, and, if applicable, mortgage and Order of Conditions or Notice of Intent, indicating any environmental issues relating to the property. Also include copies of covenants, restrictions, rights of way, as well as all pertinent trust or partnership paperwork.
- Please provide one Autocad copy and one hard copy of the plot plan approved by the municipality, with plan book number and plan number. Please provide documentation of the municipality's approval. Autocad file can be emailed.

Step 3: Electric Service Design Phase
- We will arrange for the contractor, electrician, or owner to meet with our Engineer.
- When the final design is agreed upon and completed, you will receive a letter including:
- A copy of the final electrical design,
- Notification of construction fees, if any, for which you are responsible. These fees, known as a “construction advance”, will be invoiced separately and payment must be received before we can schedule your project for construction.
- Two copies of a Service Agreement detailing the type of electrical service being installed. Both copies of the Service Agreement must be signed and returned to us before your project can be scheduled for construction.
- After we complete the design for your new service, we will schedule a pre-construction meeting with you to review the design, material specifications, and construction responsibilities.
- We will prepare the easement document based on the information you provide on the Easement Application Form (pdf) and send it to the legal property owner along with the final design sketch. We cannot schedule your project for construction until the easement document is signed, notarized, and returned to us.
Step 4: Construction and Inspection
- You will receive an electrical design drawing from us depicting the new electrical service installation.
- You are responsible to supply and install all equipment according to our Electric Service Information & Requirements (The "Green Book") (pdf).
- For 15kV class, three-phase service installations (typically those services requiring a pad-mounted transformer and primary cable) and Underground Residential Developments, these requirements may be supplemented by construction standards supplied by a company representative.
- Our trench inspector must inspect and approve the work before you backfill the trench. You must call us at least three days before needing the trench inspected.
- Before concrete is poured, you must call three days in advance for the inspection of the transformer foundation and the ground grid.
- Do not pull secondary conductors until the transformer has been delivered.
- It is your responsibility to obtain a municipal wiring inspection for your secondary electrical work. The municipal wiring inspector must report the approval to us by calling 1-800-375-7405 and referencing your project's Work Request Number. Your service cannot be energized until we have been notified by the municipal wiring inspector that the secondary electrical work has been approved.
Step 5: We'll Perform Our Work
- When the above steps are completed, we will schedule the installation of our own equipment.
- Please note that scheduling and completing our work depends on factors such as weather, workload, equipment availability, and job complexity.
- Please remember that work can only be scheduled after the following have been received:
- Construction advance payment, if required
- Signed Service Agreements
- Signed and notarized easement
- All necessary inspections.
- We will notify you if a security deposit is required.
Step 6: Installing Meters
- You need to obtain individual Work Request numbers for every meter you want installed. Please call our Work Request Line at 1-800-375-7405.
- You need to obtain individual municipal inspections for every meter.
