All interconnections of generation up to 2 MW in size are governed by the New York Standardized Interconnection Requirements (SIR). Generation 25 kW and smaller is interconnected following the step outlined in Section I, B of the SIR.
Inverter based systems above 25 kW up to 200 kW may be eligible to interconnect under the step of Section I, B of the SIR, as long as the inverter based system has been certified and tested in accordance with UL 1741 (November 2005 revision) and the utility has approved the project accordingly.
If the generation is greater than 25 kW, not inverter based or an inverter based and does not have utility approval to connect under Section I, B of the SIR, the generation will be interconnected under Section I, C of the SIR.
