New Choices®: A Brief Summary
  • You can receive a guaranteed 7% discount on your gas or electric supply costs for a two-month introductory period.
  • If you are a dual-service customer (both electricity and gas), you can receive the discount on each service (7% off electric and 7% off gas). You can enroll for both services at the same time, or you can enroll in one service now and one later.
  • You can choose a supplier yourself or let us randomly choose one for you.
Eligibility Details You can enroll in New Choices® if you are:
  • A residential (SC-1, SC-1B, SC-1C) or small business (SC2, SC-2ND) customer, with gas or electric service.
  • You are currently not enrolled with another supplier.
  • You have never been enrolled in this program (you can only enroll once for each service).
  • You are not participating in our GreenUp program.
What happens after I enroll?
  • We will send you a letter confirming your enrollment in the New Choices® program.
  • Your supplier will send you a sales agreement that will contain the pricing for both the introductory period and for after the introductory period ends. Terms and future pricing options will vary by supplier.
  • You will still receive a single bill from us, which will contain a separate line for the supplier's charges. We will pay the supplier for you.
  • During the introductory period, your bill will include a message confirming the 7% discount.
Can I drop out of the New Choices® program?
  • During enrollment: After you receive the sales agreement, you cancel your participation in the program within three days of receiving the sales agreement by contacting us at 1-800-642-4272 or by contacting your supplier directly.
  • After enrollment: To end participation in New Choices® after you are enrolled, contact us at 1-800-642-4272 or contact your supplier directly.
  • There are no penalties or fees for cancellation.
How many times can I sign up for New Choices®? You may only sign up for New Choices® one time per service (electric and gas) for the life of your account.

Finally, please remember that when you switch to another supplier, we will continue to:
  • deliver your energy
  • respond to service and emergency needs
  • provide storm restoration services
