National Grid
December 2008 Ice Storm
Customer Claims

The worst ice storm in more than a decade caused numerous power outages. We fully understand that being without power is an inconvenience. And we empathize with those customers who endured a more lengthy disruption to their daily routine. A claims process is in place for customers who believe National Grid has a responsibility for damaged or lost property.

Regrettably, and in accordance with regulatory tariffs, National Grid cannot provide reimbursement for losses sustained as a result of power outages caused by storms or other conditions beyond our control.
If you feel the circumstances of your claim are the result of some other action by the company, we will review the facts and circumstances of the claim and the type of damage incurred and advise you of our position. Reimbursement is subject to the provisions of National Grid's Electric Rates Schedules.
