National Grid Distributed System Implementation Plan (DSIP) Update Stakeholder Engagement Webinar Recording

New York’s transformational energy program, Reforming the Energy Vision, or REV, calls for an acceleration to a clean energy delivery system that includes development of more resilient, agile energy networks; integrating clean energy; harnessing new technologies; ensuring data security; and delivering new options for customers.

National Grid is at the heart of this clean, fair and affordable energy future and recognizes that working with communities, policymakers and key stakeholders is an essential part to help drive this clean energy transformation.

On February 26, 2015, as part of the REV initiative, the Public Service Commission (PSC) issued its Track I Order, which requires each utility, as a Distribution System Platform (DSP) Provider, to file a Distributed System Implementation Plan (DSIP) and update the plan every 2 years showing unique progress, challenges, and next steps in implementation. The webinar recording below provides a preview of progress and the future five-year plan covered in the 2023 DSIP Update.

The webinar discusses:

  • Distributed System Platform (DSP) actions and progress since the 2020 DSIP Update
  • High level plans for developing and implementing necessary tools, policies, processes and resources to achieve the next five-year plan
  • Upcoming new programs, projects and procurements to enable greater levels of Distributed Energy Resources (DER)

Topics covered include progress and plans for:

  • Integrated Planning
  • Advanced Forecasting
  • Grid Operations
  • Energy Storage Integration
  • Electric Vehicle Integration
  • Clean Heat Integration
  • Energy Efficiency Integration and Innovation
  • Data Sharing
  • Hosting Capacity
  • Billing and Compensation
  • DER Interconnections
  • Advanced Metering Infrastructure
  • Beneficial Locations for DERs and Non-Wires Alternatives
