Summer Safety

As the temperature increases, use these tips to beat the heat & stay safe:

  • To maximize the cooling effect of an air conditioning system, run fans to create a wind-chill effect to distribute and circulate cold air throughout a room.
  • Keep your window coverings closed to reduce the sun's heating of your home.
  • Know the signs of heat-related illness: Heavy sweating, muscle cramps, and a fast pulse are symptoms of heat-related illnesses like heat exhaustion or heat stroke.

If you’re moving, call us at least a week beforehand to start, stop, or transfer your service to a new location. We ask for 5-7 days' notice so we can schedule a crew member to visit your home and physically turn your service on or off. Please call us at 1-800-930-5003 or 1-631-755-6200, Monday-Friday, 8 am-8 pm to start, stop, or transfer your service.
