Billing period refers to the service dates between meter reads. In other words, the day when your meter was read marks the end of a billing period and the beginning of a new billing period. A billing period typically ranges from 27 to 33 calendar days.Your account number is unique to your premise. If you are a National Grid customer with multiple premises, each premise has its own unique account number. Treat your account number as confidential information.This is the dollar($) amount owed to National Grid. With a Budget Plan, the dollar($) amount due is always the same as the "Budget Plan Amount" in the section below. What are my payment options?This sections list the payment programs you are enrolled in and your monthly payment. At the beginning of your budget plan your monthly dollar($) amount is determined based on the previous year's usage at your premise. At the end of your plan (12th month), we compare how much you actually used, to how much you paid. If our records show that you overpaid, the excess amount will be credited to your National grid account (this can be refunded to the customer or applied to next bill). For more information on how a Budget Plan works click here.This is the dollar($) amount that you have been billed for so far since you have been on a budget plan.This is your actual charge based on your energy usage so far. In other words, this is how much you would have paid (if you were not on a budget plan) since the beginning of your budget plan start date.This is the difference between what you have paid so far, and what you have used so far. NOTE: If our records show that you have consumed below your monthly average, the statement will read "Amount Due Company". On the other hand if our record show that you have consumed above your monthly average, this section will read "Amount in customer favor".This section shares important about your account, e.g. payment received, budget plan amount recalculations etc. Click here to view your account and enable notifications.This is the dollar($) amount you actually used for the month. NOTE: if your current charge is higher than your amount due, it means that you consumed more than the historical average for this premise.Based on your region, your plan is reviewed every 3 to 6 months. This is to make sure that you are not being billed too much or too little. That way, there are no surprises at the end of the year.This section gives a detailed breakdown of your "Delivery" and your "Supply" charges.
