We now provide the majority of our customers with automated meter reading (AMR). With AMR, we’re able to read your meter using very short-range radio frequencies collected in our vans as we drive down your street. This way we get a 100 percent accurate reading without even having to set foot on your property, and you don’t have to worry about reporting your own readings anymore.
With the fourth Nor’easter in nearly three weeks right on our door step, we have hundreds of crews positioned across the region should the storm impact our system. Remember to keep safety a priority – before, during and after the storm. Be sure to have a supply of bottled drinking water and canned food handy. Power problems can sometimes interrupt public water supply systems or disable well pumps. It is also a good idea to check on elderly family members, neighbors and others who may need assistance during an outage period.
