About the Project

Vanderbilt Avenue

National Grid continuously evaluates opportunities to enhance the reliability of its energy delivery networks. In the coming months, we’ll be working on a project to upgrade our infrastructure in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. Upgrading this important infrastructure will increase the reliability of the system and the service to the community in this area.

This work will impact parking and traffic patterns, including bus lane and bike lane traffic on Vanderbilt Ave during work hours. Once work is complete for the day, all excavations will be secured and plated. This important upgrade is expected to be completed in Fall 2024, at which time all roadway and sidewalk areas along Vanderbilt Avenue affected by construction will be restored to NYS and NYC Department of Traffic standards. This work will not impact your National Grid service. For your safety, please stay away from the construction site and pay attention to signs around the work area.

Project Benefit:

  • Updating our infrastructure provides increased reliability and enhances our ability to serve our customers better in Brooklyn, NY.
