Submit Your Reading

If we don’t get a regular reading of your energy use, we must estimate your monthly charges. Use any of these methods to submit your monthly meter reading and keep your bills accurate:

  • Submit your meter reading online. If you haven’t setup an online account yet, it’s quick and easy to register for one.
  • Call us at 1-718-643-4050 between 7 a.m. – 10 p.m, 7 days a week. Please have your meter reading and National Grid account number ready when calling.
  • Use an automated meter reading (AMR) device. Learn more about automated meter reading (AMR) devices.
  • Leave a key with a neighbor. If you can, leave a key with a next-door neighbor. Just make sure to tell us the address. 
  • Send us a key. Some customers prefer to loan us a key. We keep customer keys in a secure, confidential file. The tag attached to the key does not have a name or address but is identified by a confidential code.
