National Grid Statement regarding Impacts of the November 8 Earthquake in Massachusetts

WALTHAM, M.A. – National Grid today issued the following statement regarding the impacts of the earthquake that occurred this morning near Buzzards Bay.

National Grid has been pro-actively inspecting our electric and natural gas systems to determine if there was any damage to them following this morning’s earthquake.  As of 6 p.m. today, no damage had been detected.  We are continuing to inspect our facilities in Massachusetts and Rhode Island as a precaution. 

If you smell gas, vacate the area immediately and call 9-1-1, or call our emergency gas line at 800-233-5325.
