Lauren Perry and Bob Benson of National Grid delivered hundreds of toys and dolls to Tri-CYA in Huntington Station to be distributed during the holiday season. The toys were collected by local businesses including Nicky’s of Centerport. During National Grid’s Season of Giving, employee volunteers hosted events across Long Island with community partners.

National Grid employees continue the company's annual Season of Giving with volunteer events across Long Island. Helping address food insecurity by supporting local food pantries and supporting Veterans throughout December, employees partnered with several community organizations to support friends and neighbors this holiday season.

“Our teams live and work in the communities we are privileged to serve. This Season of Giving, we’re showing our gratitude by partnering with several local organizations to volunteer and provide donations to make a positive impact in the lives of our neighbors and friends. Our employees exemplify National Grid’s deep commitment to our communities,” said Brian Sapp, Director of External Affairs, Long Island, National Grid.
During National Grid’s Season of Giving, National Grid volunteers hosted events in Huntington with Long Island Cares, General Needs and Tri-CYA.

National Grid teamed up with General Needs supporting Long Island Cares Military Appreciation Tuesdays providing Veterans and their families with essential items like food, personal care products, household supplies, and more. Volunteers distributed over 200 new winter coats, pillows and pillowcases that were delivered to Long Island Cares locations in Huntington Station, Bethpage and Lindenhurst.

“These donations come at a time when people are gearing up for the holiday season, unsure of where their holiday meals will come from,” said William E. Gonyou, Community Events and Food Drive Manager, Long Island Cares. “What should be a time of celebration and gratitude is a difficult obstacle many food insecure Long Islanders face. People simply do not know where their meals are coming from. National Grid’s gifts help to lessen the burden our fellow Long Islanders feel during this season and allows their holidays to be more joyous and bright.”

At the Tri-CYA in Huntington Station, National Grid volunteers in conjunction with Moonjumpers Charitable Foundation and Nicky’s of Centerport delivered hundreds of dolls and toys to donate to Tri-CYA in Huntington Station.  Tri-CYA is a great partner and they requested dolls of various ethnicities for the children in the Huntington Station community. Volunteers purchase boxes of dolls to be distributed during the holiday season.

During National Grid’s Season of Giving, employee volunteers Lauren Perry and Nelvie Howard gave donations to Kathy Palaez, General Needs board member. National Grid donated coats, pillows, pillowcases, cat food and kitty litter to General Needs, the items were distributed at the LI Cares locations in Huntington Station, Bethpage and Lindenhurst to local Veterans.
