11:30 a.m. Update: As cold temperatures and snow continue across upstate New York, National Grid crews are completing restoration work after high winds, ice and snow caused outages earlier this week. The company deployed nearly 3,400 line, tree, public safety and damage assessment specialists beginning Sunday to remove broken tree limbs and uprooted trees, and repair downed lines, broken poles, and other infrastructure damaged by the storm that affected more than 150,000 National Grid customers. The company reminds customers to never touch downed power lines; always assume they are carrying live electricity.
