Charging Station Site Hosts
National Grid's EV Charging Station Program will fund up to 100%* of the electrical infrastructure costs associated with installing electric vehicle charging stations and provides rebates on charging station equipment costs and networking fees for approved qualifying publicly accessible stations.
When you add EV charging stations, you're not just providing customers, employees, and tenants with convenience and connectivity; you're demonstrating your sustainability commitment to the entire community.

National Grid’s Multi-Unit Dwelling (MUD) EV Charging Program helps property owners and developers install EV charging stations at properties with 5 or more units by providing up to 100% funding of the electrical infrastructure costs and additional rebates on charging station equipment costs.

Step 2. Determine which Charging Stations to use for your project. Please note there is a new requirement for the Qualified Equipment list, which is the Massachusetts Appliance Standard for EVSE. Details can be found here. While charging station networking is not required to receive rebates, if you want to be eligible for Networking Stipends, the selected charging stations must be on the Qualified Equipment List. Also, please check the Environmental Justice Community Eligibility Map to see if your project qualifies for additional funding.

MUD EV-Ready Site Plans:
Supports property owners of MUDs with 20+ residential units in developing an EV-Ready Site Plan for the infrastructure, EV charging station equipment, and management practices required to provide EV charging to residents.
Plans to include:
- Proposed project sizing
- Cost estimates
- Evaluations of existing electrical infrastructure
- Operational and financial impacts of the installation
- Discussion of EV Load Management Systems if needed due to capacity constraints
Up to 100% of the cost of the report will be funded by this offering.

National Grid’s Fleet programs work to support our customers as they move to electrify their light-duty and medium/heavy-duty vehicle fleets in a cost-effective, efficient, and sustainable manner.
The Fleet EV Charging Program provides up to 100% funding of electrical infrastructure costs for all fleet customers, and additional rebates on charging station equipment costs for public fleets.

Fleet Advisory Services
National Grid is offering no-cost Fleet Advisory Services to publicly owned fleets. The program assists public fleets with comprehensive advisory services to navigate the complex journey to vehicle electrification, create fleet electrification plans, and estimate total cost of ownership savings.
Public fleet customers include:
- Public Transit Agencies
- School Buses
- Municipalities
- Federal or State fleets
- Public Universities
Preference will be given to eligible fleets that serve or operate in Environmental Justice Communities.
National Grid is partnering with ICF to offer Fleet Advisory Services. Please visit the Program website to enroll.
Fleet EV Off-Peak Charging Program
The Fleet EV Off-Peak Charging Program allows customers to earn rebates when charging commercial EVs during designated off-peak times.
The program is available to all fleets, including private and government-owned commercial vehicles.

The Demand Charge Alternative Program will support customers in reducing their operating costs of EV charges by providing a tiered load factor-based discount on their demand charges.

Co-located storage incentives will be available to commercial customers to enable public DCFC deployment in high value areas where there are capacity limitations.

Fleet Resources
Massachusetts Clean Energy Center’s (MA CEC) Mass Fleet Advisor Program
Because private fleet operators are not eligible for National Grid’s Fleet Advisory Services, they may be able to participate in the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center’s (MA CEC) Mass Fleet Advisor program. This program provides fleets guidance and preparation before applying to National Grid’s Fleet EV Charging Station program. Environmental Justice Community Resources
