Summer Safety

As the temperature increases, use these tips to beat the heat & stay safe:

  • To maximize the cooling effect of an air conditioning system, run fans to create a wind-chill effect to distribute and circulate cold air throughout a room.
  • Keep your window coverings closed to reduce the sun's heating of your home.
  • Know the signs of heat-related illness: Heavy sweating, muscle cramps, and a fast pulse are symptoms of heat-related illnesses like heat exhaustion or heat stroke.

Opt-Out of Supplier List

In order to expand the range of competitive options available to consumers in Massachusetts, the Department of Public Utilities has established guidelines that require each electric distribution company to compile a customer information list and make it available to energy suppliers.

The list includes your name, mailing and service address, monthly meter read date and rate class. Also included is your monthly kilowatt-hour usage (and demand where applicable) for the previous twelve months. We update this list quarterly and it is to be used by energy suppliers for marketing purposes only. To remove yourself from this list, please use this form:
