Heat Pump Rate Enrollment Form
Enroll in the Heat Pump Rate
Heating your home with a heat pump is efficient—and now you can save even more. The Heat Pump Rate offers a lower seasonal electricity price for residential customers who use a heat pump for heating.
Not sure if you’re enrolled?
If your heat pump was installed through a Mass Save® program in 2019 or later, and you’re on a residential electric rate, you may be automatically enrolled in the Heat Pump Rate. If eligible, you'll see the new rate on your bill starting November 2025—no action needed. We’ll confirm your enrollment via email, text or printed letter by the end of October.
If your heat pump wasn't installed through a Mass Save program or if you haven't received an auto-enrollment confirmation and believe you qualify, please use this form to submit proof of your installation. We’ll review your submission and process your enrollment.
Who can enroll?
You're eligible if:
- You're a National Grid residential electric customer (Rate R-1 or Rate R-2)
- Your electric account is in your name
- You use a heat pump to heat all or part of your home
Note: Heat pumps used only for cooling or water heating do not qualify.
What you’ll need to enroll
To make enrollment quick and easy, please provide the following:
- Your National Grid account number
- Your service address
- Confirmation that you use a heat pump for heating
Acceptable forms of evidence for a successful application include ONE of the following; proof of payment or receipt of equipment purchase, invoice or receipt from contractor installation, Mass Save rebate payment confirmation email or letter, or a clear photo of your heat pump’s outdoor unit showing the model and serial number.
