Heat Pump Rate
Introducing the new Residential Heat Pump Rate
Starting November 1, 2025, we’re pleased to announce a special reduced electric delivery rate for qualified residential heat pump customers. The reduced rate will be applied to your usage from November 1 to April 30, helping you save on your energy costs during the colder months.
Who is qualified for the new Heat Pump Rate?
This special rate is available for residential electric customers who use a heat pump to heat their home, either fully or partially. Please note that heat pump systems used only for air conditioning or water heating do not qualify.
If your Heat Pump was installed through a Mass Save® program: If your heat pump was installed in your home with the support of a Mass Save program in 2019 or later, and you’re on a residential electric rate, you may be automatically enrolled in this reduced rate. Most eligible customers will see this new rate on their bill starting in November 2025—no action is needed on your part. We’ll send you a notification to confirm your enrollment by the end of October.
We expect most eligible customers to be enrolled automatically. If you don’t receive an auto-enrollment confirmation from us by the end of October and believe you should qualify, we'll make it easy to sign up. Enrollment details will be announced soon.
If your Heat Pump was installed WITHOUT using a Mass Save® program: You may still qualify for the Heat Pump Rate. We’ll provide easy step-by-step instructions for enrollment when the application process opens. Be sure to check back on our website for updates.
