In support of National Grid’s new Vision announcement and commitment to Net Zero and fossil-free by 2050, the Company is excited to support Toyota’s new hydrogen vehicles. Toyota showcased its new hydrogen fuel cell sedan and heavy-duty truck at the Renewable Energy Park in Point Lookout where National Gird is a partner with the Town of Hempstead.

The hydrogen car and truck are fossil free and emission free. Both vehicles can be fueled at the Renewable Energy Park with green hydrogen, which is produced at the energy park by using wind power from the existing turbine and splitting H2O into water and hydrogen, using no fossil fuels.

National Grid joined the Town of Hempstead Supervisor Don Calvin and the Town Board, with Toyota representatives to see and drive the hydrogen vehicles and most importantly, tout their clean emission-free technology, which is leading the way for a new generation of vehicles.

“This is an exciting day for National Grid, Toyota and the Town of Hempstead in supporting new technology that is green, fossil-free and emission free,” said Pradheep Kileti, Director Future of Heat Engineering. “This will change the landscape of vehicles and National Grid is proud to be an innovative supporter towards a greener future.”
