What is weatherization?

Weatherization is the process of insulating and air sealing a building to protect it from the outdoors—and it’s typically one of the biggest energy-saving opportunities identified in a Home Energy Assessment.

Insulation slows down the transfer of heat between your home and the outdoors. Air sealing reduces air leaking in and out of your home. Together, they can help maintain a consistent, comfortable temperature inside your home without having to run your heat or air conditioning as often and can save up to 15% on annual heating and cooling costs.

Insulation and air-sealing improvements can help:

  • Decrease drafts to improve comfort and humidity control all year long
  • Create a healthier environment by preventing allergens and pests from entering your home
  • Minimize outside noise for a quieter, more peaceful environment
  • Reduce the chance of ice dams, protecting your roof from potential damage

Start saving energy and money in four steps.

Step 1

Schedule an appointment and provide basic information about your home by calling 1-866-527-SAVE (7283) or scheduling online here.
