National Grid is making investments in the local energy distribution system in your neighborhood to ensure customers receive safe and reliable energy service. This project will build a more reliable local energy system by upgrading and reinforcing local underground infrastructure.

Yes. National Grid’s top priority is the safety of its customers, the public, and its employees and contractors. The professional construction firms we work with also place safety as their top priority.

No. This work will be managed so that service interruption will not be an issue.

Construction is anticipated to begin on April 15, 2024 and will continue through Late-Fall 2024. Restoration of the area will occur in the Fall 2024.

Traffic may be affected during construction along the project route. * Both lanes will remain open with cones/barriers to separate the construction site from vehicular traffic. Our team is working with the village to ensure the safety of the streets and mitigate traffic issues to the greatest extent feasible. Traffic flaggers will be on-site during construction hours (7am – 4pm) and traffic signs will be posted as vehicles approach and pass the construction zone.

This project will require digging in front of residents at 81 Carman Avenue and 77 Carman Avenue. Any disturbance of landscaping, shrubbery or concrete will be restored.

While our contractors will make efforts to keep disturbance to a minimum, there will be noise associated with this project. Most of that noise will occur at the earlier stages of the project, while excavation is underway, and contractors use heavy equipment to trench ahead of the installation of upgraded infrastructure.
