Construction Schedule

  • 02/10/2020: Construction Update:
    • Crews plan to continue installation of erosion and sediment controls, construction entrances, roads, and work pads in Segments 5 and 6 near Taft Road, Round Pond Road, Malloy Road, Boss Road, and Fairway Drive.
    • Foundation work is anticipated to continue in Segment 4 and near Gillette Road.
    • Crews anticipate to continue setting structures in Segment 3 and 4 and installing conductor.
    • Crews plan to start deconstructing old structures in Segment 3.
    • Forestry crews are currently mowing and cutting in Segment 5 and Segment 6 near Northern Boulevard, Malloy Road, and Kinne Road.

  • 02/03/2020: Construction Update:
    • Crews plan to continue installation of erosion and sediment controls, construction entrances, roads, and work pads in Segments 4 and 5 near Gillette Road, Thompson Road, and Northern Boulevard.
    • Foundation work is anticipated to continue in Segment 3 and 4 and move near Gillette Road.
    • Crews anticipate to continue setting structures in Segment 3 and 4.
    • Crews plan to start deconstructing old structures in Segment 3 within the next two weeks.
    • Forestry crews are currently mowing and cutting in Segment 5 near Northern Boulevard and plan to travel to Segment 6 after.

  • 01/27/2020 Construction Update:
    • Crews plan to continue installation of erosion and sediment controls, construction entrances, roads, and work pads in Segments 4 and 5.
    • Foundation work is anticipated to continue in Segment 3 and 4.
    • Crews anticipate continuing wire and rope pulling in Segment 3 near Mud Mill Road as well as setting structures.
    • Forestry crews are currently mowing and cutting in Segment 5 near Totman Road and plan to move south along Northern Boulevard.
    • Survey crews are working along Segment 6.
    • Sunday work is anticipated to occur on 02/2/20 in Segment 3 and 4.

  • 01/13/2020 Construction Update:
    • Crews plan to continue installation of erosion and sediment controls, construction entrances, roads, and work pads in Segments 4 and 5.
    • Foundation work is anticipated to continue in Segment 3 and 4.
    • Crews anticipate continuing wire and rope pulling in Segment 3 near Mud Mill Road as well as setting structures in Segment 4.
    • Forestry crews are currently mowing and cutting in Segment 5 near Eastman Road and plant to move north towards Lisi Gardens Drive.
    • Survey crews are working along Segment 6.

  • 01/06/2020 Construction Update:
    • Crews plan to continue installation of erosion and sediment controls, construction entrances, roads, and work pads in Segments 4 and 5.
    • Foundation work is anticipated to continue in Segment 3 and 4.
    • Crews plan to pull wire and rope in Segment 3 near Mud Mill Road and set structures in Segment 4.
    • Forestry crews are currently mowing and cutting in Segment 5.
    • After hours work will be occurring on vacant land along Northern Boulevard this week in Segment 5.
    • Survey crews are working along Segment 6.

  • 01/03/2020 Construction Update:
    • After hours work is planned to occur on 01/06/20 and 01/07/20 near the Bartell Road Substation near Mud Mill Road in Segment 3.
  • 12/30/2019 Construction Update:
    • Construction crews will return 1/2/20
    • Crews plan to continue installation of erosion and sediment controls, construction entrances, roads, and work pads in Segments 4, and 5.
    • Foundation work is anticipated to continue in Segment 3 and 4.
    • Crews continue to frame and set structures in Segment 3 and 4.
    • The first wire pull is anticipated to occur in Segment 3. This will include one road crossing at Mud Mill Road in early January.
    • Forestry work will resume in Segment 5.
    • Survey crews anticipate surveying Segment 6 beginning January 6th 2020.

  • 12/23/2019 Construction Update:
    • Construction crews will be off 12/22/19 and return 1/2/20.

  • 12/16/2019 Construction Update:
    • After hours work is planned to occur on 12/17 and 12/18 n Segment 4.
    • Construction crews continue to install erosion and sediment controls, construction entrances, roads, and work pads in Segments 4, and 5.
    • Foundation work is anticipated to continue in Segment 4.
    • Crews continue to frame and set structures in Segment 3 and 4.
    • The first wire pull is anticipated to occur in Segment 3. This will include one road crossing at Mud Mill Road in early January.
    • Forestry work is active in Segment 2 and 5.
    • Survey crews anticipate to start surveying Segment 6 beginning January 2020.
    • Construction crews will be off 12/22/19 and return 1/2/20.

  • 12/9/2019 Construction Update:
    • After hours work is planned to occur on 12/10 and 12/11.
    • Construction crews continue to install erosion and sediment controls, construction entrances, roads, and work pads in Segments 4, and 5.
    • Foundation work is anticipated to continue in Segment 3 and 4.
    • Crews continue to frame and set structures in Segment 3.
    • The first wire pull is anticipated to occur in Segment 3. This will include one road crossing at Mud Mill Road.
    • Survey crews are working in Segment 5 along Northern Boulevard.
    • Forestry crews cut vegetation in Segment 1, Segment 7, and Segment 5.
    • Crews anticipate chipping and removing the cut vegetation this week. Following chipping and removal of vegetation north of Thompson Road, forestry operations will resume in Segment 5 south of Thompson Road and move through Lisi Gardens Drive, Totman Road, and Eastman Road. as well as in Segments 1 and 2.

  • 12/2/2019 Construction Update:
    • Construction crews are returning from the Thanksgiving break and resuming work this week.
    • Foundation drilling in Segment 4 is anticipated to occur near 8700 Brewerton Road on Sunday 12/8/19.
    • Structure foundation drilling continues in Segment 3 and will be moving into Segment 4 near McKinley Road this week.
    • Construction crews are continuing to install erosion and sediment controls, construction entrances, roads, and work pads in Segments 4, and 5. This is anticipated to continue through the next two weeks near McKinley Road, Gillette Road, and the Pine Grove Substation off of Thompson Road.
    • Forestry crews are continuing to work in Segment 7. Following that, forestry crews plan to move to Segment 5 near Darby Road and head southwest.

  • 11/25/2019 Construction Update:
    • Structure foundation drilling continues in Segment 3.
    • New structures are being set in Segment 3 near Sneller Road and crews are moving northward.
    • Construction crews are continuing to install erosion and sediment controls, construction entrances, roads, and work pads in Segments 3, 4, and 5. This is anticipated to continue through the next two weeks near McKinley Road, Gillette Road, and the Pine Grove Substation off of Thompson Road.
    • Forestry crews are working in Segment 7 and heading west towards the Caughdenoy Road.

  • 11/19/2019 Construction Update:
    • Foundation work in Segment 3 north of Mud Mill Road in the Town of Cicero may extend until 7:30 p.m. on 11/20/19.

  • 11/18/2019 Construction Update:
    • Structure foundation drilling continues in Segment 3.
    • New structures are being set in Segment 3 near Sneller Road and crews are moving northward.
    • Forestry operations continue in Segment 7 and plan to move into Segment 5 near Darby Road and South Bay Road after.
    • Construction crews are continuing to install erosion and sediment controls, construction entrances, roads, and work pads in Segments 3, and 4. This is anticipated to continue through the next two weeks near McKinley Road, Sneller Road, Verplank Road, and Gillette Road.

  • 11/12/2019 Construction Update:
    • Construction crews are continuing to install erosion and sediment controls, construction entrances, roads, and work pads in Segments 1, 3, and 4. This is anticipated to continue through the next two weeks near McKinley Road, Sneller Road, Verplank Road, and Gillette Road.
    • Drilling continues in Segment 3.
    • New structures have been set in Segment 3 north of Mud Mill Road and anticipated to continue in Segment 3.
    • Forestry operations were conducted in Segment 4 from Gillette Road to Darby Road. Forestry crews plan to move to Segment 7 this week to resume operations there.
    • Survey crews are continuing to stakeout Segment 5.

  • 11/04/2019 Construction Update:
    • Foundation drilling continues in Segment 3.
    • Forestry crews are working in Segment 7 and moving west from Route 11. Crews anticipate working in Segment 7 and Segment 4 in the following two weeks.
    • Survey crews are working in Segment 5 and moving southeast.
    • Construction crews are continuing to install erosion and sediment controls, construction entrances, roads, and work pads in Segments 1, 3, 4, and 7. This is anticipated to continue through the next two weeks.

  • 10/28/2019 Construction Update:
    • Construction crews are continuing to install erosion and sediment controls, construction entrances, roads, and work pads in Segments 1, 3, and 4. This is anticipated to continue through the next two weeks.
    • Foundation drilling continues in Segment 3.
    • Structure work is anticipated to start in Segment 3 in the beginning of November.
    • Survey crews are working in Segment 5 and moving south.

  • 10/21/2019 Construction Update:
    • Construction crews are continuing to install erosion and sediment controls, construction entrances, roads, and work pads in Segments 1, 3, 4 and 7. This is anticipated to continue through the next two weeks.
    • Foundation drilling continues in Segment 3.
    • Forestry crews are currently working in Segment 1 and Segment 4. In Segment 4, crews are moving south towards the west side of Interstate-81.
    • After November 1, 2019, forestry crews anticipate working in Segment 7 and moving into the southeastern Segment 4 area.
    • Survey crews are currently working in Segment 4 southeast of Interstate-81 and will continue south into Segment 5.

  • 10/14/2019 Construction Update:
    • Construction crews are continuing to install erosion and sediment controls, construction entrances, roads, and work pads in Segments 1, 3, 4 and 7. This is anticipated to continue through the following two weeks.
    • Foundation drilling continues in Segment 3.
    • Mowing and forestry work was completed last week in Segment 3.
    • Forestry work at the northern end of Segment 4 is planned to begin within the next two weeks and travel south to I-81. Forestry work is also anticipated to occur in Segment 1 within the next two weeks.
    • Survey crews are continuing survey work in Segment 4 and will continue moving south into Segment 5.

  • 10/07/2019 Construction Update:
    • Construction crews are continuing to install erosion and sediment controls, construction entrances, roads, and work pads in Segments 1, 3, 4, and 7. This is anticipated to continue through the following two weeks.
    • Foundation drilling continues in Segment 3.
    • Survey crews will be in Segment 7 this week and will travel to Segment 4 next week. Survey crews will be on the southeast side of I-81 in Segment 4 next week.
    • Forestry crews will be active in Segment 1, Segment 3, and Segment 4.

  • 09/30/2019 Construction Update:
    • Construction crews are continuing to install erosion and sediment controls, construction entrances, roads, and work pads in Segments 3, 4, and 7. This is anticipated to continue through the following two weeks.
    • Drilling has started along Segment 3 and is moving south.
    • Survey crews will be finishing up survey work along Segment 2 this week and move to Segment 7 and Segment 4 in the following two weeks.
    • Forestry operations have resumed and work is occurring in Segments 3 and 4.

  • 09/23/2019 Construction Update:
    • Construction crews are continuing to install erosion and sediment controls, construction entrances, roads, and work pads in Segments 3, 4, and 7. Work in Segment 4 is planned to stay to the west of Interstate 81. This is anticipated to continue through the following two weeks.
    • Insulator replacement work was completed at structure 376 near 7231 Northern Blvd. and at the East Malloy Substation.
    • Construction crews are mobilizing to begin foundation drilling in Segment 3.
    • Survey crews are continuing work in Segment 1 and 2.
    • Construction crews anticipate moving into Segment 1 in two weeks.

  • 09/16/2019 Construction Update:
    • Construction crews are continuing to install erosion and sediment controls, construction entrances, roads, and work pads in Segments 3, 4, and 7. This is anticipated to continue through the following two weeks.
    • Survey crews are continuing work in Segment 1 and will be moving into Segment 2 after. 
    • Insulator replacement is anticipated to occur at the East Malloy Substation and structure #376 near 7231 Northern Blvd the weekend of September 21st and 22nd of 2019. This work is in Segment 6 and Segment 5 in the Town of DeWitt.
    • Forestry and mowing operations have paused and will resume following October 1st, 2019.

  • 09/09/2019 Construction Update:
    • Construction crews are continuing to install erosion and sediment controls, construction entrances, roads, and work pads in Segments 3, 4, and 7. This is anticipated to continue through the following two weeks.
    • Survey crews are working along Segment 1 this week.
    • Mowing is continuing along segments 3,4, and 7 and anticipated to continue on the west side of Interstate-81 for the following two weeks.
    • Insulator replacement is anticipated to occur at the East Malloy Substation and structure #376 near 7231 Northern Blvd the weekend of September 21st and 22nd of 2019. This work is in Segment 6 and Segment 5.

  • 09/03/2019 Construction Update:
    • Construction crews are continuing to install erosion and sediment controls, construction entrances, and roads in Segments 3 and 7. This is anticipated to continue through the following two weeks.
    • Mowing has started along Segments 7 and 4 and is planned to continue for the next two weeks
    • Installation of erosion and sediment controls, construction entrances, roads, and work pads are planned to start within two weeks along Segment 1, 3, and 7

  • 08/19/2019 Construction Update:
    • Construction crews are continuing to install erosion and sediment controls, construction entrances, and roads in Segments 3 and 7
    • Mowing crews will be moving into Segment 7 in the upcoming two weeks

  • 08/05/2019 Construction Update:
    • Construction crews are mobilizing the week of August 5th in Segments 3 and 7
    • Crews will be active in our three marshalling yards located along Northern Boulevard, Old Court Street, and Eastman Road
    • Crews will be installing construction entrances, construction roads, and erosion and sediment controls along Segments 3 and 7
    • Mowing will begin the week of August 12th along Segment 3

  • National Grid anticipates starting construction of the Clay-DeWitt & Clay-Teall Rebuild Project on or about August 1st, 2019
