National Grid routinely inspects and upgrades its systems to guarantee that our customers receive the highest quality service for their homes and businesses every day. The Southern Line Part R project will increase reliability, enhance safety and operational flexibility, and improve service throughout Queens and Brooklyn. 

In January 2026, we will begin upgrading our infrastructure on Sutter Avenue and 106th Street. Following this, in February 2026, we will start upgrades on Guy R. Brewer Blvd. and 115th Avenue. In 2027, we will commence the Brooklyn projects.

This project will increase the reliability of the system, enhance safety, and the service throughout Queens and Brooklyn. Work will involve excavation of the roadway, relocation of infrastructure, temporary restoration of the roadway, testing of the infrastructure, and final restoration of the roadway.
