The Commack RCV Project is nearly complete. Our crews are currently preparing to put newly upgraded infrastructure in-service. This is a significant project milestone and one of the last major phases of work before crews can begin final restoration activities and complete construction for the winter heating season. This work is tentatively scheduled for the week of 10/18/26.

During this work, you may notice the odor of natural gas. While a gas odor is expected as part of the in-service process, we encourage you to report any gas odor by calling National Grid at 1-800-490-0045 or 911. We will respond and investigate all reported gas odors.

Once gas-in is complete, crews will begin restoration work. Barring unforeseen conditions, restoration activities are anticipated to begin in the weeks following gas-in. In the meantime, crews located on the Cumberland Farms property will continue excavation work and underground infrastructure upgrades, in preparation for gas-in.

The Cumberland Farms driveway on Commack Road closest to the work zone may be closed during work hours for the safety of our crews and Cumberland Farms customers. At least once driveway on Commack Rd and on the LIE N. Service Rd will remain open during work hours. Cumberland Farms remains open during construction.

This project is expected to be completed in the November of 2026.
