The work zone will encompass the shoulder and grass area along a stretch of the LIE S Service Road, just east of Commack Road in Dix Hills, NY. Be mindful of cones, jersey barriers and flaggers near the work zone.
Excavation within the shoulder and grass area, installation of upgraded underground infrastructure, including a new Remote-Control Valve (RCV), quality assurance testing, and restoration of any disturbed areas once work is complete.

Likely not. While our crews will work diligently to keep traffic impacts to a minimum, motorists will see shoulder closures on the LIE S. Service Road near the work zone during daytime work hours. All excavations will be secured and plated during non-work hours. Be mindful of cones, jersey barriers and flaggers near the work zone, designed to mitigate traffic issues and help motorist around the work zone safely.
No. This work will take place within established utility corridors adjacent to the LIE S. Service Road.
While our crews will make efforts to keep disturbance to a minimum, there will be noise associated with this project. Most of that noise will occur while excavation is underway as contractors use heavy equipment.
