Last week our crews completed tie in of the new station. This work involved a crane on site to lift critical infrastructure into place, welding, and late night work at the site on 9/20/23. We thank you for your continued patience as we near completion of this important work.

Last week our crews continued backfilling trenches on Makofske Avenue, completed concrete work, and installed chimneys and vent poles. Our team also excavated test holes on Makofske Avenue near the intersection of Hempstead Turnpike.  

This week neighbors can expect to see:

  • A lane switch for motorists. Crews will be moving to the west side of the street, but the east side of the street will be re-opened to allow traffic to flow normally.  
  • Continued backfilling.
  • Excavations on the west side of the street and tie-in work.
  • Site cleanup.
  • Ladder installation inside the vaults.
  • Work by our corrosion team.
