About the Project

In the next few years, we’ll be working to replace the saltwater pump house (SWPH) with a new elevated facility within our Greenpoint Energy Center.

National Grid continuously evaluates opportunities to enhance the reliability of its energy delivery networks. In the next few years, we’ll be working to replace the saltwater pump house (SWPH) with a new, elevated facility within our Greenpoint Energy Center located on Vandervoort Avenue between Lombardy Street and Maspeth Avenue. As part of the company’s net-zero commitment to reduce its own emissions, the facility will include solar panels on the roof to supplement electricity for the building.

Project Benefit:

  • A multi-stage resiliency project. The new SWPH is part of National Grid’s overall supplemental fire suppression system that protects the entire Greenpoint Energy Center.
