As our crews continue to construct the upgraded saltwater pump house, installation of land side piles remains on track to begin this November, with completion expected in December 2025. Waterside piling work within Newtown Creek is now expected to begin in December 2025, and take approximately one month to complete.
National Grid crews will utilize turbidity curtains during water side pile installation, which sit underwater and limit the movement of sediment and prevent turbulent waters. This turbidity curtain is scheduled to be installed this month (October 2025).
As our crews continue to construct the upgraded saltwater pump house, a barge has mobilized on site to support pile installation activities. Land side pile installation is scheduled to begin mid-august, expected to be completed by the end of October.
Water side pile driving will commence around the end of October, expected to be completed in early November.
