2025

Crews continue to install additional substation equipment within National Grid property. New cable will also be installed from the new duct bank on Common Street into the substation to connect the station to the electric grid. Work will continue throughout the winter with a new phase of construction expected in February as crews work to energize a portion of the new station. The outreach team will continue to work with neighboring stakeholders ahead of any deliveries or impacts to the surrounding streets or alleyways.

Crews will be excavating and installing duct bank connecting the new substation into existing manholes located on Common Street. We also anticipate the delivery of new transformers to the new substation yard on National grid property. Crews will focus on pouring concrete pads to support the delivery of equipment and a new control house building to the new substation yard on National Grid property. Construction crews will continue to install foundations for the new equipment and the new perimeter wall. Crews will also be installing manholes and duct bank within National Grid property. 2024

Construction began on this project in October 2024. During the winter of 2024/2025, the construction crews will continue to install the foundations for the new equipment, including drilling micropiles and pouring concrete. Equipment delivery will begin in early 2025. Civil construction work will continue through the winter and into the springtime to install additional manholes, duct banks, and foundations. The perimeter wall will also begin to be installed around the western portion of the site this winter. The outreach team will continue to work with neighboring stakeholders ahead of any deliveries or impacts to the surrounding streets or alleyways.
