Project Schedule

Upcoming and Current Activities

  • National Grid’s project team will review the project right-of-way (ROW) in person. The review will take approximately one day but could be extended due to weather, team needs, etc. The review is non-invasive, and the ROW will be accessed by foot and/or light-duty vehicles. Prior to the review, the ROW will be mowed and staked.
  • Mowing and select vegetation removal will occur in the ROW to allow for field investigations.
  • National Grid contractors will begin geotechnical investigations in the ROW. This involves staking proposed structure locations and crews taking soil bore samples to be used in engineering design. The ROW will need to be mowed prior to the work being done. After boring samples are taken, the holes will be backfilled.
  • National Grid will also be identifying potential access roads and marshaling yards to be used during construction. You may see crews in the project area during these activities.
  • National Grid contractors will begin geotechnical investigations in the corridor. This involves staking proposed structure locations and crews taking soil bore samples to be used in engineering design. After boring samples are taken, the holes will be restored as necessary. This work will be completed in Spring 2023.
