National Grid routinely inspects and upgrades its systems to guarantee that our customers receive the highest quality service for their homes and businesses every day. The Southampton Upgrade Project will install a check valve to the north side of Montauk Highway and West Gate Road in Southampton, ensuring it is situated in the right of way.

In January 2026, we will begin upgrading our infrastructure on Montauk Highway between Montauk Highway and West Gate Road.

This project will increase the reliability of the system, enhance safety, and the service throughout Long Island. Work will involve excavation of the roadway, relocation of infrastructure, and restoration.
