The maintenance of infrastructure is mandatory and involves checking the condition of the utility from the inside, using specialized tools to detect any sections that may require preventative maintenance or replacement.
This work is required to meet federally mandated compliance standards every seven years. It also allows us to prioritize safety and system reliability.

Yes. All work is performed following strict safety protocols and regulatory requirements to protect both the public and our crews. A safety supervisor is on site 24/7 while equipment is at the site.
Our team will evaluate the findings. If the inspection identifies any additional maintenance needed, the team will return to repair or make any necessary upgrades, prioritizing safety and system reliability.
Due to the temporary installation of above ground infrastructure, there will be changes to traffic and parking during maintenance. Once maintenance is done, crews will demobilize, restore the area, and normal traffic resumes. Our project team will work with residents and local business owners to minimize these impacts.
Yes. National Grid crews will be on site, overnight to maintain safety.
Yes. There will be noise and increased crew activity during certain phases of the inspection, particularly when equipment is being installed or removed. A generator will be used during this work, which may elevate sounds periodically.
