National Grid continuously evaluates opportunities to enhance the reliability of our infrastructure. We are about to begin an infrastructure improvement project in Sunset Park that will upgrade our commercial infrastructure in the area. This project will entail the installation of new infrastructure on 54th St between 1st Avenue and 2nd Avenue. There will be some additional work on 39th Street between 2nd Avenue and 3rd Avenue. We anticipate completing this project by Winter 2026.

Construction work will include roadway and sidewalk excavation, installation of new equipment and support, jack and bore drilling beneath the rail crossing on 1st Avenue, backfill and restoration. Traffic changes and parking restrictions will apply during construction. For your safety, please stay away from the construction site and pay attention to signs around the work area.
