Sunset Park Reliability Project

Jack and bore drilling is a trenchless excavation method allowing our crews to go underneath sensitive crossings.

Work will begin in October 2025 and we anticipate completing work in Winter 2026.

Work will consist of excavation in the roadway, installation of the new main and valve, testing of the newly installed infrastructure, and temporary, followed by permanent, restoration of the road.

No. This work will be managed so that service interruption will not be an issue.

Traffic will be impacted during construction in the work area. That said, our team is working with the DOT to put into place the best Traffic Management Plan that will ensure the safety of the streets on which our work will take place and mitigate traffic issues to the greatest extent feasible.

No. As this project will reinforce the existing local infrastructure system, the vast majority of work will take place within established utility corridors.

The majority of the noise will happen during excavation, when contractors are operating heavy machinery and trucks are frequently backing up, producing warning signals.
