Discount Rates
Income-eligible customers may qualify for a discounted rate on energy service. To be eligible, you must be a National Grid customer and already enrolled in an eligible benefit program or the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). To see if you are eligible and apply, fill out the Discount Rate application.
List of Eligible Benefit Programs
- Commonwealth Care Plan Types 1, 2 or 3A*
- Emergency Aid to Elders, Disabled, and Children (EAEDC)*
- Fuel Assistance/Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP)*
- Food Stamps (SNAP)*
- Health Safety Net Plan - Primary or Secondary (Not Partial)*
- Head Start*
- MassHealth - Basic or Standard (Medicaid)*
- National School Lunch Program*
- Public Housing*
- School Breakfast Program*
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)*
- Transitional Aid to Families with Dependent Children (TAFDC)*
- Veterans’ Service Benefits* (Chapter 115)
- Veterans DIC Surviving Parent or Spouse*
- Veterans Non-Service* Disability Pension
- Women, Infants and Children (WIC)*
*You will need to provide proof of benefits such as a program I.D. card or a copy of the certifying agency's acceptance letter.
