Many National Grid customers with a smart meter will be able to access Sense as the rollout continues, but not all right away. National Grid first determines eligibility. If you’re eligible, you’ll receive an email from National Grid inviting you to connect Sense to your new smart meter. If you’ve received that email but still can’t connect, please reach out to Sense Support for help.
Even if you are unable to access Sense, you can still log into your MyAccount to see your near-real time usage.
At this time, Sense-enabled Smart Meters are not compatible with homes that have solar panels installed. Sense is working hard on a solution for solar customers.
National Grid does not share individual account billing information with Sense. The bill forecast feature within the Sense Home app takes an average rate across the state you reside to determine an estimated bill, but not your actual bill. Sense Home app users can adjust their rate within the app by following this help article. To see your near real-time usage and see how it compares to your previous bills, please visit MyAccount.
National Grid is only offering the Sense Home app to its electric smart meter customers. We are currently installing smart meters across UNY and MA through 2027. Visit National Grid’s Smart Meter program to learn more.
