Due to the upcoming winter storm and anticipated temperatures, gas main installation along Hempstead Avenue has been postponed. Work will resume the night of Sunday, February 1st.  

This work will take place between the hours of 9PM and 5AM and will include excavation of the roadway and sidewalk along Hempstead Avenue between Broadway and Morris Avenue. Flaggers will be on site to navigate vehicles and pedestrians safely around the work zone. 

This work is expected to be completed in Spring 2026. Full restoration of any disturbed roadway and sidewalk will follow once gas work is complete.

Crews will begin work on the Hempstead Avenue Gas Main Replacement project on or about the night of Tuesday, January 20th.
