About the Project

This Spring 2026, we will begin installing upgraded infrastructure around the intersection of Meeker Avenue and Lorimer Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. These upgrades will increase the reliability of our service for our customers in Williamsburg, especially during the winter heating season. This work will be completed in phases, with the first phase expected to be completed in fall 2026, and the second in fall 2027.
We are continuously evaluating opportunities to enhance the reliability of our energy delivery networks. In the coming months, we’ll be working on a project in Williamsburg to improve our energy delivery system, which will increase the reliability of the system and the service to the community in this area, especially during the winter heating season.
Construction work will include roadway and sidewalk excavation, installation of new gas transmission main and equipment, pressure testing, retirement of aging infrastructure, water main relocation, backfill and restoration. Traffic changes and parking restrictions will apply during construction. Materials will be stored around the work zone on Lorimer Street, Frost Street and Jackson Street for the duration of the project. Excavations will be secured and plated during non-work hours. For your safety, please stay away from the construction site and pay attention to signs around the work area.
