This week, crews continued excavating on Lorimer Street in preparation for the DEP water main relocation. This work will require two temporary water service shut-offs: A four-hour shut-off during the week of 6/14, and an 8-hour shut-off during the week of 6/21. Both will be scheduled for overnight hours. This will only impact water service for residents and businesses near the intersection of Meeker Avenue and Lorimer Street. Exact dates and times to come. Notification for water shut-off will be provided at least 48 hours in advance.
The Lorimer Street Upgrade Project will be done in phases, with the last phase expected to be completed in Fall 2027. No parking on either side of Lorimer Street is permitted close to the work zone. Materials and equipment will be stored on the surrounding blocks for the duration of the project.
