Apply Today: A special emergency funding period is now open to support customers facing delays in HEAP assistance. If you need assistance with your energy bill, you can apply now through HeartShare.

Expanded eligibility:

  • Customers enrolled in the Energy Affordability Program (EAP) with a balance of $1 or more
  • Self-attested federal employees, federal contractors or active-duty military members affected by the shutdown with a balance of $1 or more

Please note during this emergency funding period:

  • Customers do not need to exhaust HEAP funding before applying
  • Applying now will not impact your eligibility for the regular program reopening in February 2026

 

This National Grid program administered by HeartShare Human Services of NY helps qualified households meet their home heating needs. The program typically opens in February. To qualify for a grant, you must be a National Grid customer whose household meets the income guidelines of the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP).

Customers may apply once per year when they have exhausted all HEAP assistance. For more information on how to apply, call 1-855-852-2736 or visit the HeartShare Human Services of NY website.
