About the Project

National Grid continuously evaluates opportunities to enhance the reliability of our energy delivery networks. We are working on upgrades to our existing system that will help to provide safe and reliable heat to our customers. The Jamaica Bay East Project will upgrade valves and other components of the local energy system to increase safety and reliability through the replacement of components.

Please note this is a multi-year project with intermittent work. For 2024, valve replacement will take place at the following locations:

  • Seaview Avenue between Rockaway Parkway and East 98th Street
  • Avenue U between Royce Street and Bergen Avenue
  • East 105th Street between Flatlands 2nd Street and Avenue K

There will be related work at the following locations in 2024 as well:

  • Avenue U between 55th Street and 56th Street
  • Flatlands Avenue between Georgia Avenue and Alabama Avenue

Project Benefit:

Installation of new valves in our energy system throughout Southern Queens and Brooklyn. This work will improve system integrity and flexibility in your area.
