Traffic Information

Parking, lane closures, & traffic detours:

• During work hours (Monday through Friday, 9am TO 3PM*) our crews will maintain one eastbound lane on Metropolitan Avenue for local traffic.
• If travelling westbound: for access to homes and businesses near the work zone, please use Union Turnpike and 71st Avenue. Traffic flaggers will assist as necessary.
• Please use Union Avenue or Woodhaven Boulevard as detours for through traffic when possible. Please be aware that after work hours No Parking signs will remain up on the blocks closest to our work zone, generally one block in either direction. This is to ensure that adequate clearance is maintained to allow our crews to resume work promptly in the morning and will keep this project on schedule.
• Expect NYPD presence, flaggers, and posted detour signage.

Crews will do their best to accommodate deliveries along Metropolitan Avenue for businesses when safe to do so. Please notify delivery drivers in advance of the work. If possible, give advance notice to crews for scheduled deliveries to help maintain safe traffic flow.  

For your safety, please be mindful of traffic signs and do not enter the work zone.
