ConnectedSolutions is an intelligent platform from National Grid that works with your Wi-Fi thermostat(s) and other connected devices to reduce electric use during periods of high energy demand.

How it Works

Peak Energy Events are periods of high energy demand, like exceptionally hot, humid summer days. These events may last up to four hours, and occur between 10am and 8pm on weekdays. During these events, your thermostat automatically adjusts by 2 – 3° to conserve energy, and will return to its prior temperature following the Peak Energy Event. Prior to an event, some Wi-Fi thermostats will pre-cool your home ensuring you stay comfortable during a Peak Energy Event. You’ll be notified via e-mail by 9 AM on the day of an event, and can always opt out by simply adjusting your thermostat's temperature.

To be eligible, you must be a National Grid Massachusetts residential electric customer and have central air conditioning in your home.
