ConnectedSolutions

Connect to a more comfortable future and earn $50 using less energy on high-demand days.

During the hottest days of summer, demand for energy goes up -- when homes and small businesses are cooling with central air conditioners.  To help you control energy use, reduce carbon emissions and manage costs during these peak times, we’re offering a special incentive through our ConnectedSolutions program. If your smart thermostat is connected to a central air conditioning system, this program is for you!

Sign Up for ConnectedSolutions Electric

Earn $50 at enrollment plus $20 at the end of each electric season after the second year.
Electric season runs May 1 to September 30.

Here’s how it works:

1

Enroll your qualifying smart thermostat* in ConnectedSolutions get $50.

2

During peak demand days, your thermostat will precondition your space to prepare it for on peak demand event and slightly reduce electricity use for cooling in the summer while ensuring your comfort and safety.

3

As a thank you for helping curb demand and greenhouse gas emissions, we’ll give you up to $20 in rewards at the end of each season you participate in the program, after the second year.

When you add up the little efforts and all the energy saved from you and neighbors like you, it makes a big difference in your community—and the world.

Qualifying Thermostats

ConnectedSolutions is enabled by smart thermostats connected to a central cooling system. If you don’t have one yet, there are many options for purchasing a participating smart thermostat including the MassSave Marketplace, your local hardware stores, or online retailers.

Check out this list of qualifying thermostats by program to see if yours qualifies:

  • Ecobee**
  • Emerson Sensi
  • Honeywell Home (including Lyric)
  • Lux
  • Google Nest
  • Building36
  • Vivint.smartHome

Why Demand Response?

During the coldest days of winter homes use more natural gas than usual, putting stress on the system network. Our ConnectedSolutions program offer incentives for automatically reducing your home and small business energy use these times of peak demand.

Your thermostat automatically preconditions your home and then adjusts by a couple of degrees during an event. Most events last about three to four hours.

Calendar icon

There are typically 10-15 electric events in the summer.

Opt-Out icon

You are always in control. If an event is inconvenient for you, simply opt out of that event.
